She received a minor degree in dance from Western Illinois University, and has been very active in the local Modern Dance scene, including directing her own company and the Harvest Chicago Contemporary Dance Festival. Nicole became an instructor at MayI in 2007 and quickly developed a loyal following of students that are drawn to her personal, comforting, and caring style of teaching and relating to students. She teaches all the social dances, but is most sought after for the classic Ballroom dances and Argentine Tango. Nicole, a cat-lover, finds herself across the aisle on our perennial cats vs dogs debate and she can’t stop looking at all those cute cat pictures on the internet.
Influenced by music and art from a young age, Scott grew up dancing and flipping to the beat of his own drum. He might have been a cheerleader had it not been for all the shouting. Scott attended The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City to focus on musical theater where he was introduced to ballet, jazz, and tap dance. After graduating he honed his skills in the smooth, rhythm, and social dance worlds, competing both on the pro-am and professional levels while at a strict Ballroom Dance studio in Michigan. Scott’s passion for teaching comes from the positive life changing impact he’s seen it have on so many of his students. He’s thrilled to have found such a welcoming community here at May I and has already become one of the most popular dance instructors and partners in Chicago. When not dancing, Scott likes to write music, sing, look at interior design websites, and bike. Over the summer of ’08 four friends and he took a 110 day bicycle trip around the country (and Canada). It was Amazing!

Lamario a natural dancer for much of his life, came to MayI as a student in 2011. He quickly stood out as a talented guy, but even more so as a dedicated student of dance. He picked up the lead and follow's part very easily, knew all the right questions to ask, and often found himself helping others in class and during practice. Soaking up knowledge and expertise in many of the social dances such as Hustle, Salsa, Nightclub Two Step, Country, and Ballroom, Lamario really shines with his West Coast Swing. He, and his partner Kristin, have been tearing up the midwest and national Rising Star circuit with their dynamic WCS routines. English has been dancing since 2001. Early on she focused on classical ballet, training with the Judith Svalander Dance Theatre, Milwaukee Ballet, and Ballet Austin. English was recently a scholarship student at Lou Conte Dance Chicago under the direction of Claire Bataille, and worked with Thodos Dance Chicago performing contemporary work in their annual summer performance of New Dances. English has been dancing professionally and teaching ballet and other styles since 2012. Venturing into the social dances, she was awarded the advanced scholarship at May I Have This Dance. Her talent, character, and hard work was so impressive, she was asked to join the MayI teaching ranks very soon after that.
